Cleaning Instructions

Cellular Shades
CLEANING LIGHT FILTERING FABRICS

Cellular Light Filtering fabric is easy to care for. Regular dusting with a feather duster or vacuum cleaner brush is recommended. Most stains can be blotted with a damp sponge and mild detergent. Before using anything stronger than mild detergent and lukewarm water, test an unobtrusive corner of the shade.

CLEANING ROOM DARKENING FABRICS

Cellular Room Darkening fabric is easy to care for. The fabric can be dusted with a soft, clean cloth, feather duster or lightly vacuumed with a soft brush attachment. To spot clean, use a cloth or sponge dipped in a light solution of lukewarm water and clear dish detergent and lightly dab. Do not scrub the surface. Rinse thoroughly. Complete immersion is not recommended.

Roller and Panel Track Shades (discontinued)
CLEANING AND CARE OF COLOR LUX® ROLLER FABRICS

Occasional light vacuuming with a soft bristle attachment or gentle feather dusting is all that is required to keep Color Lux Roller Shades looking fresh and neat. The soft fabrics that are available with this system may need occasional steaming, especially if shades remain in the raised position on a regular basis and the tear drop folds settle in.

CLEANING AND CARE OF COLOR LUX®  SCREEN FABRICS

Occasional light vacuuming with a soft bristle attachment or gentle feather dusting is all that is required to keep Color Lux Roller Screen Shades looking fresh and neat. Most fabrics may also be ultrasonically cleaned. Dust can be removed with a soft feather duster or by vacuuming with a soft brush at the lowest position. When intensive cleaning is required, the colored (room) side can be cleaned with a wet cloth. NEVER use an alcohol or ammonia based cleaner (such as Windex®) on Color Lux fabrics or allow those cleaners to come into contact with the color side of the shade.

Sheer Shadings (discontinued)
CLEANING AND CARE OF COLOR LUX® FABRICS

The soft delicate feel of Color Lux® Sheer Shadings belies the durability of the material. Color Lux is made from sturdy, knitted polyester fabric and may be feather dusted or vacuumed at a low suction setting. Spots or stains can be lightly rubbed clean with a damp sponge and mild soap.

Precautions should be taken to reduce exposure to harsh environmental elements, such as salt air. Continuous exposure to salt air through open windows and doors will accelerate fabric deterioration over time.

Important: Do not clean the fabric using electrostatic wipes such as Swiffer® or Pledge Grab-It®.

Color Lux® fabric may also be ultrasonically cleaned.

Insulating Blinds (discontinued)

Regular feather dusting or vacuuming will keep your Insulating Blinds looking new for years. Insulating Blinds can be spot cleaned. Gently blot the stain with a clean, non-alcohol baby wipe. Instead of a baby wipe, you may use a clean white cloth with a mild cleaning solution. Support the fabric from behind using another clean, dry cloth. Clean the fabric using a gentle blotting action. Do not rub the fabric. Any abrasive action may cause the fabric to pill or distort. Allow the fabric to air dry with vanes expanded.

Forced air can also be used to blow out dirt and debris from within the vanes using clean compressed air or a hair dryer on the COOL setting. Insulating Blinds can also be ultrasonically cleaned. Do not immerse the head rail.
